DI State Tournament

Well this weekend was Lyssa's DI state Competition...and well...they didn't make it to Finals :( which was a bummer at first, but they're all okay and are can't wait to do it again next year!

We're very proud of our Lyssa for sticking thru this all year long! She and her teammates worked super hard on this all year long and they are winners in our eyes!

Progress of the new me for 2010...

Well, let me see… I didn’t start the “new me” till about a week ago… I know it’s a late start, but hey, a late start is better than no start, right? J so anyway. I feel that I’ve been working really hard on counting my calories and working out at least 3 times a week… I push myself a little harder each day to really feel the burn. I think I pushed myself too hard last night and Sunday night, so I might take a break tonight, but maybe not. We’ll see…

So my kids know that I’m trying to lose weight so they tell me that they’ll remind me to get on the treadmill or to do my exercises to I don’t forget and they really have. I like that they’re being so supportive. I didn’t know that a little kid would be this supportive with something like this, and it just brings tears to my eyes knowing that they have my back J I love my kiddos so I have to continue to push myself and make them proud. Sunday, before we left to go out for the day, Lyssa said,  “Mommy, you know what? It looks like you’re losing weight.” I said, “really? And thanks babygirl.” Tommy chipped in and said, “yeah mommy you have lost weight… you know how I can tell? You don’t have the plumpy on your stomach like you used to.” I was like, okay… but he continued to emphasize that my “plumpiness” was gone…I think he meant that I didn’t have a muffin top anymore… It felt so good hearing them saying that. Not because I need them to say it, but because they noticed and let me know that they noticed… It just makes me want to continue on this road to the New me more than ever… they are my motivation.  J

RJ is how old????

Yesterday was Easter, but more importantly it was our nephew, RJ’s Birthday! J He turned 12! Can you believe that??? I remember when he was like 2.Time sure does fly by, and makes us realize how old we are! L To celebrate RJ’s big Birthday, we went with him and his parents, and my sister in law and her hubby and their baby to eat at one of his fav places…Kazee..well we call it Kazee… I think the real name of the place is Kamikazee. I like Kazee better J Alyssa was a little bummed cause we didn’t go to my family’s house to spend time with them, but once her food was ready, she got over it. Maybe she was just cranky from not eating???? Tommy loves going to that place so he was excited…he ate he’s shrimp fried rice, and some sushi, more sushi and he got whatever we had left on our plates! That boy can eat! J

As a gift, we got RJ a cool birthday card…when I say cool, I mean funny…we  ended up getting him a girl’s birthday card with the LPS stuff on it…it was just too funny, we couldn’t resist. I made him some spicy crackers that he loves and put it in a nice little gift box, plus Tomas gave him some money J I think he enjoyed it all…We were really glad to be able to spend some time with him on his birthday…his 12th birthday at that! I mean it would have been good to spend time with my side of the family, but this is RJ we’re talking about and it’s his birthday…how could we not be there, you know? We love RJ! J

My Little Busy Bee....

Alyssa is well my little busy bee...she has so much going on right now, it's crazy! But so far she's been handling it very well, so I'm extremely proud of her for being able to juggle it all and still keep her grades up  But now, she wants to add Girl Scouts to her list! Which is not a bad thing, but she has so much going on right now... so I don't want her to over do it, but at the same time, I do want her to continue to find things she likes and be involved in them...plus she's bonding with her friends (they also do everything that Alyssa does, plus girl scouts) and I don't want to take that away from her. So I'm giving her an opportunity to check it out and get some information for me, so I know what her schedule would be like if she joined. Right now her schedule is packed...this is what she does every school week...

Mondays- Music Memory till 4:30-5pm
Tuesdays- Tutoring till 3:45 and then off to her Jungle Book rehearsal
Wednesdays - DI till about 5 or later... they have to practice and get everything ready for State Competition this month
Thursdays & Fridays - sometimes she has to go to DI till 5 or later
plus she has to do homework for both reading and math and study for the TAKS test next week!

I do like seeing that she likes all these different things and likes being involved, but she can't do it all... at least not until her DI stuff is over with...right now their trying to get ready for the State Tournament on April 16-17th and if they win there, then they'll have to start getting ready for the Global Finals in May! So she really won't be able to add more to her plate... Music Memory is having a competition in the beginning of May and I'm not sure when her play is going to be... so to add Girl Scouts to her many lists of things to do, I think will be too much. I guess I'll have to give her a chance to try before I pull the plug on it.
